Description
Ibutamoren Mesylate (MK-677) is a potent, non-peptide growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR) agonist. Ibutamoren Mesylate is a potent, orally active growth hormone (GH) secretagogue.
Function
Ibramolen mesylate has been shown to increase the release and production of consistently increased plasma levels of some hormones including gh and insulin-like growth factor 1 (igf-1), but not to affect cortisol levels. Potential treatments currently under development reduce the levels of these hormones, such as in children or the elderly with growth hormone deficiency, and human studies have shown increased muscle and bone mineral density, making it a promising treatment for frail older adults. It also alters the metabolism of body fat, so it may have applications in the treatment of obesity.
