This product is an amide anesthetic. Among the local anesthetics in clinical use, cinchocaine is the one with the strongest effect, the most toxicity, and the longest maintenance time. The intensity of anesthesia administered by injection is 15 times that of procaine, and the toxicity is also 15 times greater. The onset is slower, about 15 minutes, but the duration of action is 3 times that of procaine. The local irritation is small and the penetrating power is strong. Used for topical anesthesia, infiltration anesthesia or epidural anesthesia.
